Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Features Spider-Man

Disney is clearly winning the battle of the trailers and whoever they hired to edit the latest trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR should get a huge raise because this film looks incredible.

Based on Marvel’s 2006-07 seven-issue series “Civil War“, it was written by comic scribe Mark Millar and penciled by Steve McNiven. The final trailer (or so they keep calling it) gives you a clear idea of why Captain America aka Steve Rogers is going against the government he readily served for all these years.

“The consequences of the Civil War will have an even more significant impact [than The Winter Soldier]”. Tony Stark a.k.a Iron man called someone who snatched a Cap’s shield and it was no other than Spider-Man. Of course, Captain America(Chris Evans) doesn’t see it that way.

You’ll see a large circular prison structure emerge from the ocean and that’s Prison 42, named after Stark’s 42nd idea out of 100 to make the world a better place. Of course the trailer proved that a poster doesn’t compare to seeing Team Cap and Team Iron Man fighting live, yet since this week of Civil War goodies started with posters, it should end with one as well. For each watch, I used a physical stopwatch to track how long certain characters were onscreen, three watches per character, and then I averaged times and rounded up to the nearest full second.

But it also has several unexpected things – first and foremost, it finally features Spiderman!

Until today, Team Iron Man only had five members: Rhodey/War Machiene (Don Cheadle), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Black Panther, and The Vision (Paul Bettany). It seems the Russo brothers, who are directing the film, have answered our prayers for as many hero-on-hero fights as (super)humanly possible.
